Well, what can be said about this. Not much other than, WTF. They better adopt a new rule that has no ways around it. If Cooke's hit had been done near the boards, he would've been suspended. He didn't even try to play the puck, his stick was off the ice and it was clear his intent was to strictly blindside Savard. Blindside, for all intense purposes, usually results in a pretty nasty result. These players have no respect for each other or the league. If anything, id like to see the players association with some pull to suspend players for their lack of respect to one another.
These next couple of weeks could be interesting in the NHL. Boston loses their top goal scorer in the fight for the playoffs and now there was no justice from the league, that's when players take matters into their own hands. Mark Thursday March 18th on your calendar as the Pens and Bruins meet one last time.
BTW: I guess you guys got your answer from the "Lapierre suspension" thread. Ridiculous.
